Tagged as “super secret recipes” from the women of the Decatur County Senior Center, the book holds the ingredients and methods of delicious desserts that were passed down through the family and cherished by their makers.

“We were brainstorming ideas of ways we can raise some money for them,” said Karson King, program supervisor for the Bainbridge-Decatur County Recreation Authority.

King has helped organize events at the Senior Center over the past six months including a Cupcake Wars activity, a prom dance and other activities that get the seniors up and moving. The money raised by the sale of the “Gimme Some Sugar” books will help fund the Senior Center so seniors will continue having a place to meet and enjoy these activities.

The books cost $14 a piece and can be picked up at Bainbridge Pharmacy, RX Drug Center, Decatur County Senior Center, Young Fashion, The Crave, Toole’s Cakes & Deli, The Henry House, The Bean, Bainbridge Engraving, A to Z- A Children’s Boutique, Special Occasions, J.L.’s Gift Shop and Maiden South.

Nikki Rich helped design and print the book.

“We printed 250 copies, so we are going to sell them until we run out,” King said.
