Two Bearcats named to all-state team

Two Bainbridge players had their names on the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Class AAAAA All-State team released on Thursday.
Junior running back Dameon Pierce appeared on the offensive team.
Pierce (5-11, 2015 pounds) led the team in rushing with 1,686 yards on 243 carries. He led the team in receiving yards as well, catching 20 passes for 248 yards. He led the team in scoring with 20 touchdowns.
Pierce is verbally committed to Alabama, with 17 other D1 offers including Michigan State, Stanford and Florida State.
Senior linebacker Kerenski Williams was named on the honorable mention list.
Williams was the Bearcats’ leader in solo tackles with 84. He had five fumble recoveries this season, one of them in the end zone for a touchdown. He also had one interception that he returned for 17 yards.
Williams was also an offensive threat later in the season, stepping into the running back position. He had 19 carries for 99 yards.
The Class AAAAA offensive player of the year was Tylan Morton (Griffin), defensive player of the year was Adam Anderson (Rome) and coach of the year was awarded to John Reid (Rome).
