Harry and Monika Patel can proudly claim that their newborn son, Shrey Patel, was the first baby born at Bainbridge Memorial Hospital for 2017.

Shrey Patel came into the world at 10:47 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 1. He weighed 5 lbs., 5 oz.

“It is a great feeling and we are very happy,” said Harry Patel when asked about having the first child of 2017.

Dr. Jason Moye delivered the baby and said it was a great start to 2017.

Shrey will join his 5 year old sister, Mahi Patel, when he goes home.
