The Grace Christian Academy girl’s basketball team lost to Westwood Academy on Friday, Jan. 6, with a score of 63-19. Westwood proved to be too much to handle from early on in the game, and never let up.
At the end of the first quarter, Westwood was leading 22-3 and GCA was never able to get on track. After the first two quarters, GCA only had 5 points at halftime to Westwoods 39.
The fourth quarter showed signs of life from the Lady Cougars, who held Westwood to only 8 points in the quarter, but by then it was way to late. Westwood had already jumped way to far out ahead to ever be caught.
Caroline Wells led all scorers for GCA with 9 points, going four for five from the field. It was hard for the Lady Cougars to score, only three other players contributed on offense. Addie Elkins put up 6 points while Mikey Harrell and Kaitlyn Holcombe both added 2 points.
