Two men were convicted this week at the Decatur County Courthouse for sexual assault on children.

Derrick Crews was found guilty Tuesday for child molestation of a 6-year-old and a 10-year-old. They were his step children, said South Georgia Judicial Circuit District Attorney Joe Mulholland.

Crew was sentenced to 30 years prison, 20 to serve.

“We were pleased with that sentence for sure,” Mulholland said. “The lesson to be learned from this is it’s one of those crimes that’s uncomfortable, aggressively prosecuting those who are charged with this help bring it to the forefront.”

A jury found Conley guilty of child sexual assault Wednesday. His victims were under 10 years old, Mulholland said.

Conley pled blind to Judge J. Kevin Chason and will serve 20 years in prison.
