Robert Odell Griner was born July 9, 1974, in Bainbridge, the son of H.L. Griner and Linda Clay Griner. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1991. Robert was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and farmed with Donnie Ray Miller.
Robert was considered a “good ol’ boy”. He loved dirt and tractors so farming came naturally to him. Family was important and his heart’s desire was to provide for the ones he loved so dearly. Robert never shied away from a challenge and had a strong work ethic. “Baby K” (Kenley Grace) held a special place in his heart and could melt it in two seconds or less. Papaw, as Kenley Grace called him, was eagerly anticipating the arrival of his first grandson, Dawson Lee Griner.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Christie Singletary Griner; his children, Tyler Griner and his fiancé, Hayley, of Colquitt, Lindsey Griner of Bainbridge, Laura Griner and Hannah Griner both of Brinson; his father, H. L. Griner of Brinson; his siblings, Julie & Wayne Willis of Bainbridge, Hank Griner of Tampa, Karan Griner of Cairo, Chris & Everett Pearce also of Cairo, and Clay & Tonia Griner of Brinson; and his granddaughter, Kenley Grace Griner. Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Clay Griner.
