The first tree of Fowlstown comes to life this holiday season

Sandy Day and Sylvia Stephens were all smiles Friday afternoon. The ladies have lived in Fowlstown for almost sixty years, and just got their first Christmas tree.
A friend of theirs, Wayne Swicord decided Fowlstown deserved a tree and wanted to put everyone in the Christmas spirit. Swicord put the lit Christmas tree in the parking lot of Fowlstown Post Office.
“It was beautiful,” Stephens said. “We were so shocked.”
Day agreed, saying how proud they were of Swicord for doing this for their little community.
Fowlstown doesn’t have a Christmas tree farm anywhere near and neighbors rarely put up lights or decorations. To the Day and Stephens family this meant the world.
Although the women realize it isn’t much, they believe Swicord put the spirit of Christmas back in Fowlstown.
