Jackie Lee Shaneyfelt was born October 24, 1932, in Madison Township, Indiana, the son of Leon and Veona McClain Shaneyfelt. He graduated from high school in 1951 and proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Jack went on to Michigan State to study industrial engineering.

Jack moved to Bainbridge in 1987, and worked at ITT for a while. He loved to tinker on most anything but especially a golf cart. He quickly gained notoriety as the owner of South Georgia Golf Carts where no golf cart problem was left unresolved. His love for golf was evident and when he couldn’t play anymore he enjoyed hearing stories from his friends on the green. Family always came first with Jack.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Martha Hilfiker Shaneyfelt; his sons, Stephen Shaneyfelt of Grand Rapids, Mich., Shannon Shaneyfelt and his wife, Gwen, of Cave Creek, Arizona, and Clayton Shaneyfelt and his wife, Kimberly, of Tallahassee, Fla.; his grandchildren, Trisha, Kristina, Katie and Collin; and his great-grandchildren, Destini, Jackson, Mason and Brody. Jack was preceded in death by his parents.
