Multiple qualified for Decatur County offices in first days

Qualifying for eight local elected offices began Monday and will end Friday, March 9, at noon.
Those who have qualified for non-partisan races are Keith Lyle for Board of Education, District 2, Mike Conder for Board of Education, District 4 and Marvin Van Thomas for Board of Education, District 6.
Those who qualified for County Commission are George Anderson (D, District 1), Thomas R. “Rusty” Davis (D, District 4), Pete Stephens (D, District 6), James “Jim” Meredith (R, District 1) and Oliver Sellers (R, District 6).
Benjamin Harrell (D) has qualified for Solicitor General. Wayne Thomas qualified for District Supervisor of Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission. His race will not be on the ballot until Nov. 6 with a runoff scheduled for Dec. 4, if necessary.
