Miss Lumpkin to wed Mr. Dawson
Mr. Melvin and Dr. Linda B. Lumpkin of Bainbridge, proudly announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Mellori Evonn Lumpkin to Kevin James Dawson, son of Mr. Leonard and Dr. Louvenia Carter Dawson of Houston, Texas.
The future bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. Harold Williams and the late Mrs. Alice Lumpkin Williams of Bainbridge and Mrs. Mattie Clark and the late Mr. Rufus Clark of Arcadia, Florida.
Miss Lumpkin was the valedictorian of the Bainbridge High School Class of 2005. Ms. Lumpkin received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, summa cum laude, from Florida A&M University in 2009. She earned her law degree from the University of California, Berkeley Law School in 2012, where she was elected Supervising Editor of the California Law Review. Miss Lumpkin is currently employed as a business and employment litigation associate at the international law firm of Greenberg Traurig LLP, in Atlanta, Georgia.
The future groom’s maternal grandparents are the late Mr. & Mrs. Elijah Carter of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. His paternal grandparents are Mr. James and the late Mrs. Dorothy Dawson of Gallion, Alabama and Ms. Ruth Madison of Holt, Alabama.
Mr. Dawson is a 2002 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance. Mr. Dawson earned his law degree from the University of Iowa Law School in 2009. Mr. Dawson is currently a partner at the intellectual property law boutique of Bates & Bates, LLC in Atlanta, Georgia.
The wedding will be held Saturday, June 16, 2018, in Decatur, Georgia.
