Charlotte Lucille Lathrop Faircloth, 82 of Donalsonville, Georgia, passed on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Seminole Manor Nursing Home.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday, May 19 at 11 a.m. at Reynolds Chapel Methodist Church with Rev. Donna Sue Roberts officiating and Rev. Lynn Roberts providing special music. The family will receive friends for visitation Friday evening, May 18, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, Georgia.
Active pallbearers will be Danny Temples, Clay Henderson, Daniel Faircloth, J.B. Samsal, Mike Chambers, and Stevie Daniels.
Mrs. Faircloth was born on November 6, 1935, in Terre Haute, Indiana to the late Armon Franklin Lathrop and Sarah Avis Miller Lathrop. During high school and college, she was involved in band, chorus and trios where her love of music blossomed past where she was playing piano and singing with family. Charlotte graduated from Madras High School in 1954 in Madras, Oregon and received an associate’s degree in Education from Kendall College in Evanston, Illinois. Several years later she met and married Edward Faircloth on November 14, 1959. She worked as a Ward Clerk with the hospital in Donalsonville and later at the Printing House in Quincy, Florida. She sold Avon for many years. Her passion included talking to people and creating jewelry.
Her survivors include her sister, Mary Arrowood of Hendersonville, N.C., her children, Debra (Hollis) Cox of Pelham, Georgia, Brenda Faircloth Temples, Auburndale, Florida, David Faircloth, Lisa (Thomas) Brown, Donalsonville, and daughter-in-law, Nancy Daniels, Bainbridge, Georgia. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy including Danny (Nicole) Temples, Holly Cox, Nickie (David) Akins, Brittany (Travis) Harrison, Kyle (Mason) Cox, Ashley (J.B.) Samsal, Daniel Faircloth, Sarah (Clay) Henderson, Todd Brown, Heather (Nick) Pollock, Anthony Hitchcock, Patrick Faircloth, Dianna (Jake) Embich, Ayana Murkerson, Peyton Pollock, Layton Pollock, and Tommy Pollock. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Karen Lathrop and Janet Baldwin, her husband, Edward Faircloth Sr., and son, Edward Royce Faircloth, Jr.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.
