Our community needs to give a well-deserved round of applause for those involved with hosting more than 20 couples from Taurus USA last weekend.

We only had a relatively short amount of time to show what makes Bainbridge so wonderful as well as the incredible potential it has. With Taurus USA building its North American headquarters over the next year right here in the city, a lot of that potential will be realized sooner rather than later.

A leading international firearms manufacturer, Taurus USA will create 300 new jobs in our neck of the woods. The boost to our economy will be tremendous, as more people than ever before will be moving through Bainbridge to work, eat out, buy gas and pick up groceries from Winn Dixie.

Many of the higher-ups within the company were among those who visited last weekend, here to see just what Bainbridge had to offer.

Our job was to sell them on our outstanding recreation, beautiful homes, dependable healthcare, the rapidly growing downtown and plethora of gorgeous churches with strong memberships. The verdict? Bainbridge is a place people want to live. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive from these Taurus families. The credit goes to everyone who has kept Bainbridge growing and developing, while never forgetting what makes the community so great in the first place.

There are no endless highways of bumper to bumper traffic like in Miami, where Taurus USA is currently headquartered. People smile and wave here. They stop and talk. Your church is your family. The Bainbridge Bearcats rule. Our Flint River is the gateway to the outdoors. All of it. The informative presentations and warm hospitality from the Development Authority, the Bainbridge-Decatur County Recreation Authority, our local governments, our churches, our businesses, our real estate agencies and everyone else were on point.

Just look around. It speaks for itself. If Taurus USA wants to enjoy the best our region has to offer while helping it continue to grow as an amazing city, Bainbridge is where they want to live.
