Historical and Genealogical Society to honor fallen veterans

The Decatur County Historical & Genealogical Society is excited to announce that the exhibit “Remembering Our Fallen Georgia Memorial” is coming to their Museum in Bainbridge just in time for Veterans’ Day observance on Monday, November 12.
The exhibit honors those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars. Included in the exhibit are several south Georgians who gave their lives in these wars, including Robert “Stacey” Goodwin and Dan T. Malcom, Jr. from Brinson, Zack Alday from Iron City and Weston C. Lee of Arlington.
The Museum, located at 127 E. Water Street on the square in downtown Bainbridge, will open the exhibit Monday evening from 5-7. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday hours are 10-7; Wednesday 10-5:30; and Saturday 10-3. Saturday is also Holiday Open House in Bainbridge.
Admission is free to enter the Museum and see the exhibit due to the generosity of several generous sponsors: Bainbridge Pharmacy, ERA Simpson Realty, First Port City Bank, Ponder Enterprises/Hardees, Phil and Diane Long, Southwest Georgia Oil, The Post Searchlight and VFW Post 4904.
