Eighth grade Bearcats on a roll with back-to-back wins

The Bainbridge Middle School eighth grade boys’ basketball team got back to back wins over the past few days to extend their season record to 3-0.
On Saturday the Bearcats hosted the Colquitt County Packers from Moultrie and came away with a 48-41 victory.
“This was a well-played game between two good teams, this was a very high level middle school basketball game,” said coach Heith Maxwell.
K.J. Cochran led all scorers with 15 points. Behind him was Dontavious Broadnax with 10 points, Jafus Ferguson with 9, Kedrick Bryant with 6, Ahmari Borden with 4 and Tevon Moore with 4.
On Monday, the Bearcats hosted the previously undefeated Pelham Middle School Hornets. The Cats came away with a 51-29 victory over the Hornets.
“Pelham is a good team but we found a way to pull out ahead with a big league and didn’t look back,” said Maxwell.
KJ Cochran led all scorers again with 18 points. Dontavious Broadnax had 12, Jafus Ferguson scored 9, Janerious Jackson had 6, Ahmari Ford put up 4 and Ahmari Borden had 2.
The eighth grade Bearcats return to the floor on Thursday when they travel to Thomasville to take on the Thomas County Yellow Jackets.
