The annual Yuletide Jubilee will mark the beginning of the holiday season in Willis Park on December 6.
The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. and have things for every member of the family to enjoy.
Special events coordinator, Megan Wimberley said there will be multiple food vendors and the businesses surrounding the square will be doing various workshops for the kids. They can make ornaments, drink hot chocolate and participate in other activities by the storefronts.
There will also be a variety of entertainment for all to listen to and watch while still walking around. The John Johnson Elementary School chorus will perform at 5:45; followed by the Bainbridge High School chorus at 6 p.m. Lucretia’s School of Dance will then perform a holiday routine in front of the American at 6:30, followed by Piper Loeffler performing her rendition of “O Holy Night.”
The night will come to an end with Councilman Kregg Close lighting the community Christmas tree and Santa Claus visiting the gazebo, while listening to children’s Christmas wishes.
While the performances are ongoing, children will have the opportunity to participate in different games. Wimberley was excited about some of their new activities for the kids. There will be a 14-foot snow blast, along with an Artic obstacle course, Candy Cane Lane, a s’mores station and a giant piano mat for kids to play on.
Wimberley invites everyone to come out and join the city in this family fun event and kick off the first of many holiday festivities.
