Bainbridge gives wide range of players chances to shine at spring game

Bainbridge players, coaches and fans got a taste of football last Friday night for the Bearcats’ spring game against Thomasville at Centennial Field.
Seventh grade, eighth grade, J.V. and teams from both sides took their shots at one another for a full evening of gridiron action.
During the varsity Bearcats’ 14-3 win over the Bulldogs, rising junior quarterback Quayde Hawkins was 10-of-25 for 115 yards and one interception. Leading the way was receiver and rising sophomore Deyon Bouie, who had three catches for 36 yards.
On the ground, rising junior Rashad Broadnax led the rushing attack with 13 carries and 108 yards with a touchdown. Tevin McCray also rushed for a touchdown, racking up 12 carries and 47 yards.
Dante Broadnax, a rising freshman, carried the ball five times for 25 yards in the J.V. Bearcats 7-0 loss to the Bulldogs.
