Bainbridge Fan Day to light up Centennial Field Friday

Bainbridge football fans don’t need to wait for the season opener later this month to see the 2019 Bearcats in action.
Bearcat Fan Day, an annual inter-squad scrimmage at Centennial Field that serves as the unofficial kick off to the fall season, will be held this Friday, Aug. 9, at 5 p.m.
The inter-squad scrimmage and practice will give Bearcat fans an opportunity to watch the players go through warm ups, perform drills and compete against each other like they have done in practices this summer. Announcers will be in the press box to guide and call the event.
Fan Day will run between one to two hours.
There is no admission fee, but Bainbridge coach Jeff Littleton asks fans to consider bringing a box of Oxyclean washing powder to help with washing uniforms throughout the season.
Bainbridge will host Lowndes County (Region 1-AAAAAAA) for a scrimmage at Centennial Field on Friday, Aug. 16, at 7:30 p.m.
The Bearcats are preparing for a big season to defend their 2018 State Championship title, the program’s first championship since 1982.
The slate in Region 1-AAAAA includes games against Harris County, Veterans, 2018 state runner up Warner Robins and rival Thomas County Central, with the Bainbridge Bearcats also facing off against Seminole County, Cairo, Crisp County, Tift County, Brooks County and North Miami Beach.
