Bearcats win against Early County, continuing strong start to season

The Bearcat basketball team is off to its hottest start since the 2015.
The Bainbridge boys improved to 4-2 on the season Tuesday after beating Early County 52-51 at home. The Lady Cats (3-3) suffered a close 40-34 loss to the Lady Bobcats.
TJ Tarver had a huge game for Bainbridge, pouring in 19 points. KJ Cochran was also in double digits with 11 points. Other scorers for the Bearcats were Deyon Bouie with 7 points, Dorian Cooper and Dewayne Kyles with 4 points each, Alvanni Willians with 3 points and Mark Taylor and Tyrell Bryant with 2 points each.
India Parris led the way for the Lady Cats with 12 points. Other scorers included Kirston Nobles with 6 points, Taralyn Brown with 5 points, Detavia Salter and Destiny Turner with 4 points each and Anndrea Porter with 3 points.
Bainbridge started its region schedule Friday against Harris County and will travel to Cairo to take on the Syrupmakers on Saturday.
Tipoff is 6 p.m. for the Lady Cats and 7:30 p.m.
