Six Bainbridge Middle School students traveled to the University of Georgia to represent their school at the UGA middle school honor band. These students arrived on Thursday, attended concerts, and rehearsed a total of 7 hours to perform a concert on Saturday. Mr. Parker said that he is proud of these fine musicians for representing the Decatur County Band Program, their school and community.
“With over 1,000 students from across the state attending this event, I am very proud of where our students placed amount the 8 different ensembles,” he said. Band members Mallorie Barrineau and Cole Busby said their favorite part was having the opportunity to listen to the UGA Wind Symphony, one of the premiere ensembles on campus.
Mr. Parker would like that thank Mrs. Sherry Copeland and Mrs. Edie Ward for chaperoning this trip and the Band Boosters for their financial support.
