Lady Cats leap to 2nd at Bearcat Invitational

The Bainbridge track and field team made out well on its home turf last Saturday for the annual Larry Clark Bearcat Invitational, where 16 teams competed throughout the day.
The Lady Cats took second place, led by another outstanding performance by freshman Nya Blocker. She won gold medals in the 400-meter dash, the 200 meter dash and the long jump, and was named Most Valuable Female Performer at the meet. She also was a member of the fourth placing 4-by-100 relay team with Angel Peterson, Destiny Turner and Sanaya Davis and the third placing 4-by-400 relay team with Peterson, Turner and Chynae Palmer.
Other top Lady Cats include Angel Peterson with a second place in the long jump, Angel Peterson with a second place in the triple jump, Treasure Jenkins with a first place in the shot put, and Raven Williams with a second place in discus and a third place in shot put.
Top Bearcats performers include a third place finish from the 4-by-400 relay team of Tevin McCray, Devonte Stepney, Caleb Lewis and Donye Mills with a time of 3:30.03
Johsua Thomas took third place in the 110 hurdles with a time of 15.66. Stokes Moore took second place in the 800 meter with a time of 2:03.52. Trevon Campbell was crowned with first place at the triple jump with a leap of 43-feet-7-inches.
Bainbridge’s next meet will be this Saturday at Thomas County Central.
