Dorothy Nell Peterman was born July 21, 1928 in Greenville, SC, the daughter of Shelby and Gertrude Bates Peterman. She married Zack John Worsham, Jr. and they made their home serving Christ in Southwest Georgia. Dorothy was a member of Eastside Baptist Church.

Dorothy was considered a sassy southern belle also known as a spitfire. She had a feisty spirit that brightened any room and kept folks wondering what would happen next. (As a pastor’s wife, this could definitely cause a few giggles from the peanut gallery.) Dorothy took her role seriously and shared the love of Jesus unconditionally with her husband, her family and the friends she made over the years. She was a fantastic cook, loved to cast a fishing line, and enjoyed camping with her people.

Survivors include her children, Dawn Creel of Lynn Haven, Fl., Diane & Larry Woodcock of Jesup, Ga., and Jeff & Tammie Worsham of Whigham; her siblings, Ann Brown of Thomasville, Ga., Bud Peterman of Lakeland, Fl., Jerry Peterman of Albany, Ga., and Jean Loyd of Thomasville; her grandchildren, Bennett & Ashley, Rebecca, Amy, Jennifer & Chris, Joshua, Karla, Karen & Michael, Jeffrey, and Jason & Jessica; her great-grandchildren, Zachariah, Novaleigh, Rowan, Dylan, Lillian, Taylor, Tyler, Elijah, Brandon, Madison, Meagan, Matthew, Olivia, Owen, and Anna; and her great-great-grandchildren, Braxton and Briella. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Zack Worsham; and her siblings, Ralph Peterman, Howard Peterman, Harvey Peterman, Hazel Barwick, Bertheen Ansley, Bill Peterman, Maude Hickey, Eva Burnham, Gladys Murray, and Frances Hicks.
