Anita Louise Kendrick, 83, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Saturday, August 1, 2020.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Poppell officiating.  Interment will be at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines.

Anita Louise Kendrick was born September 9, 1936 in Homestead, Fla., the daughter of Amos and Edith Pollock Morse. She was a graduate of Hopeful High School. Anita married James Bowen Kendrick, Jr. in 1957 and they made their home in Climax. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Anita was named the Decatur County AG Woman of the Year in 2014. She was known to be a sharp, professional, and business minded woman through her years working at Georgia Gulf Sulphur and Barber Fertilizer. She loved to travel and was an avid reader. Her delight in life was her close-knit family. Anita maintained an active role in all their activities and shared stories of their accomplishments with great pride.

Survivors include her husband of almost 63 years, J. B. Kendrick, Jr.; her children, David A. & Rhonda Kendrick of Bainbridge, and Michael L. & Sylvia Kendrick of Comer, Ga.; her siblings, Betty & Ray Thrift, Wanda & Charlie Price, Audrey & Gary Streat, Bobbie & Charles Kearns, Patsy & Jerry Henry, and Wayne & Freddie Morse; and her grandchildren, James Bowen Kendrick III and his wife, Kaylee, and David Jackson Kendrick. Anita was preceded in death by her parents.
