Wade Dyches, Jr., 83, of Cairo, Ga., passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2020 at his residence. Funeral Services will be held at Whiddon Shiver Funeral Home on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Chad Boyd officiating. He will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery in Cairo. Mr. Dyches was born on February 25, 1937 in Bainbridge, Ga., to the late Rev. Wade & Johnnie Mae Dyches, Sr. He was a graduate of Cairo High School. He married the love of his life Faye Drew Dyches on Decemeber 23, 1955. They were married close to 50 years when she departed to her heavenly home on December 18, 2015.
Mr. Dyches was well known and loved by many. He worked for many years in the auto parts business at Faulk Chevrolet, Roy Campbell Chevrolet and Andy’s Bumper to Bumper. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. His family and friends will miss his laughter, sense of humor and caring love for all.
Survivors include, his children: Debra (Ben) Peavy of Camilla, Ga. and Brenda Stewart of Pelham, Ga.; grandchildren, Ashley (Dusten) Walker of Hopeful, Ga., and Paige (Cam) Cochran of Pelham, Ga.; great-grandchildren, McKenzi Barfield of Pelham. FayLyn Walker of Hopeful, and Camie & Camille Cochran of Americus, Ga.; sisters, Margaret Blocker, Stella Cook, and Janie Johnson; sister-in-law, Margaret Drew, and numerous loving family members, and special friends. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Remington Ben Walker; son-in-law, Wade Stewart; sisters, Grace Thursby, Christine Dyches; brothers-in-laws, Horace Thursby, Lonzo Blocker, Jake Cook, Larry Johnson, Ed Oates, Lee Drew, Howard Drew and Buddy Drew; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Oates, Maxine Drew, and Delilah Drew; father & mother-in-law, Roy & Thelma Drew.
