Jeffery Blake Murphy was born December 8, 1990 in Tallahassee, Fla., the son of Jeff and Melanie Maine Murphy. Blake was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 2009. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps believing there was no higher calling than serving the country he loved. Blake was Baptist by faith.
A man’s man by any standard and a Marine for sure, Blake loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, fireworks and remote control toys, especially cars. Blake took his passion for the outdoors, and the lessons learned from his father, to start a career in landscaping after his service with the USMC. He loved guns, old guns, new guns, pop guns, potato guns, and even water guns when he was soaking his sisters. Blake was proud to be a Marine and patriotism was part of his DNA. He cherished his family and the memories and life lessons learned. Ellareigh, his daughter, reminded him often that love is unconditional and she would always be a Daddy’s girl.
Survivors include the sunshine of his life, his daughter, Ellareigh Murphy of South Carolina; his parents, Jeff & Melanie Murphy of Bainbridge; his sisters, Brandi Murphy White (Westley) of Blakely, Ga., and Sarah Catherine Murphy Maxwell (Edward, Jr.) of Bainbridge; his grandparents, Sarah Hardman Murphy, and Cathy & Pete Maine; and his nieces and nephews, Brayden, Tyler, Ivy, and Alli. Blake was preceded in death by his grandfather, Neil Murphy.
