Betty Ann Hardwick was born March 22, 1932 in Faceville, Ga., the daughter of Percy and Lillian Wells Hardwick. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1949. Betty retired from GA Power after twenty two years as a customer service representative. She was a charter member of Fellowship Baptist Church where she served on various committees. Many consider Betty a pillar of the church.

Two things about “Miss” Betty: she loved her Lord and she was ALWAYS dressed to the nines. She could give you a quick run down of inventory at Belk, though she could find a little something to purchase most anywhere. Her smile made her approachable and her love for others made you want to stay within reach. She unselfishly gave of herself as a caretaker for her husband and the best mama & grandmama to the children she delighted in. “Miss” Betty enjoyed vegetable gardening and cooking. Never did those who sat at her table go without a bite to eat and a word of encouragement.

Survivors include her children, Randy & Janice Martin, Beth & Bill Josey, and Lisa Donalson, all of Bainbridge; her grandchildren, Kristina, Katie, Selena, and Lee; her great-grandchildren, Kayden, Liam, Shelby, Morgan, Blake, and Holden; and her great-great-grandchild, Jayden. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Donalson; and her brother, W.A. Hardwick; and her step-daughter, Rita White.
