To end their Senior Night festivities on a high note, the Lady Bearcats took home an impressive victory over Seminole County, scoring 11-3.
They took an early lead, scoring in the first three innings, garnering six runs in the third inning. Seminole County didn’t get any runs until the fourth inning, where they managed to score three. Lexie Delbrey kept Seminole at bay, delivering consistent strikeouts over three innings. Keyleigh Brinson and Taralyn Brown delivered singles in the third inning, Halle Cannon hit a double, and Delbrey walked.
“When I talked with the girls, we know we have to get better with every game and every practice,” Coach Christopher Bryant said. “They played with the mindset that we’re playing for a state title.” Bryant was especially proud of the seniors. “That was Senior Night for us, the seniors played exceptionally well. … And the underclassmen wanted to send them out with a big victory for Senior Night.”
The next game will be a home game against Thomas County Central, Thursday at 5:30.
