Lois Draves, 89, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away on November 30, 2020 in Thomasville, Ga.. She was preceded in death by her husband, SSGT Arnold Draves in 1986; two brothers and one sister.
Lois was born in Eveleth, Minnesota and grew up in Duluth, Minnesota. She married Arnold in 1956 and they traveled the world together as he served in the U.S. Air Force. They owned and operated K & K Lumber in Havana for many years. She moved to Texas after Arnold passed and she relocated to Bainbridge in 2003 to be closer to her family.
Lois’ passion was sewing and quilting and she enjoyed working for a sewing factory in Havana for several years. Most recently she came to the rescue of Decatur County and City of Bainbridge employees designing, sewing and donating over 400 masks to help with the Pandemic.
Survivors include three children, Susan Sulser (Patrick) of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; Kathy Weeks (Ken) of Celina Texas; and Kim Medley (Dennis) of Whigham, Ga.; one sister, Kathy Gibbs of Denver, Colo.; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, December 4th at Woodland Cemetery in Havana, Fla. Lifesong Funeral & Cremation Services (lifesongfunerals.com or 850/627-1111) is assisting the family with arrangements.
