Mrs. Josephine Bass-Knight, age 86, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge, Georgia.  Josephine had been a resident of Memorial Manor for many years.  Services for Mrs. Bass-Knight will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 3, in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home.   The service will conclude in the chapel.  The Rev. Ken Cloud and the Rev. Marty Anderson will officiate.  Mrs. Bass-Knight will be interred in Roselawn Memory Gardens.  Jim Nunley, Michael Harrison, Terrence Dudley, and Christian Hollingsworth will serve as pallbearers.

In accordance with State of Georgia guidelines concerning the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing and to wear protective masks.

Josephine Bass-Knight was born August 12, 1934 in Early County (Jakin), Georgia to William Lloyd Bass and Audie Mae Howell Bass.  Her parents have preceded her in death.  She has lived in Bainbridge for over 75 years.  Josephine was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.  She worked as a caregiver in a personal care home.  A loving mother, grandmother, and sister, she will be deeply missed by the family she loved so much.

Josephine Bass-Knight is survived by her children, Alecia Anne Harrison  (Milton) of Brinson, Georgia, Wanda Carol Ristow (Ollie Brown) of Vada, Georgia, Vickie Lynn White (Larry Bird) of Lexington Park, Maryland, Kimla Denise Nunley (Jim) of Dothan, Alabama, and Robin Renee Dudley (Terrence) of Albany, Georgia; sisters, Sylvia Eyvon Stephens of Bainbridge and Earlene Elizabeth Yonas of Lakeland, Florida; brother, Tommy Mack Bass of Bainbridge; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
