Lucille Thursby Rangel, age 97, of Donalsonville, Ga. passed away January 30, 2021 at the home of her daughter in Bainbridge, Ga.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday afternoon, February 2, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Spring Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Brian Hatchett officiating.  Interment will immediately follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Spring Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.  The family wishes to say a special thank you to Kindred Home Health and Integrity Hospice.

Ms. Lucille was born in Donalsonville, Ga. on December 30, 1923 to John and Ona Johnson Thursby.  She retired after 30 years as a seamstress with Williamson-Dickie Mfg Co in Bainbridge, Ga. She had a green thumb and loved her vegetable and flower gardens but her specialty was peanut brittle.  Ms. Lucille was always caring for others.  She was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Deborah Perkins and her husband, Everett of Bainbridge, Ga.; her stepson, Genaro Rangel, Jr. and his wife Judy of Klondike, TX; and 8 grandchildren, Tina Barber, Cheryl Harrell, Starla Perkins, Jeff Tharp, Stephanie Chapman, Aaron Rangel, Kerri Rangel, and Ashley Rangel.  Ms. Lucille is also survived by numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Preceding Ms. Lucille in death were her parents, John and Ona Johnson Thursby; her husband, Gene Rangel; her daughters, Laura Leona Barber and Pat Tharp; as well as her seven siblings, Jesse Thursby, Horace Thursby, Clint Thursby, Frank Thursby, Edna Tabb, Margie Peters, and Alice Tharp.
