Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
|
On February 27th, Lee Howell, an oboe player at Bainbridge Middle School, attended a masterclass via zoom. This event was hosted by the Hugh Hodgson School of Music at the University of Georgia. Lee was part of a group with the Oboe professor Reid Messich from UGA, and Elaine Douvas from Julliard. Part of the clinic, Lee performed Schumann’s Romance #1 as part of the clinic and was able to receive feedback on her performance. She attended a clinic where they discussed audition preparation for honor bands as well as college auditions.
Lee had this to say about the clinic: “It was very fun and I learned a lot from this event. One of the things I enjoyed the most was interacting with other oboe players and working with them to become a better player.” Mr. Parker expressed how excited he was for Lee to have this opportunity to work with the instructors at UGA and Julliard! Anytime a student has the opportunity to grow and continue to develop their musical skills, it is a joy!
