James Hines Blalock was born February 18, 1934 in Quitman, Ga., the son of Hugh and Dollie Dukes Blalock. He married Bobbie Chancy in 1959 and they made their home in Quitman. In 1978, Jimmy & Bobbie moved west to Bainbridge. Jimmy was a member of Christian Faith Church.

Jimmy was a people person for sure. He was always smiling and willing to pitch in where he could. He believed in working hard and idle time was never on his agenda. His word was his bond and he never waivered. Jimmy retired from City of Bainbridge (Sewage Treatment Plant) and Memorial Hospital as the security guard. He also spent years working as the produce manager for both Harvey’s and Piggly Wiggly. He loved the Lord and shared that love with his family and church family. Jimmy enjoyed gardening especially growing sunflowers.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Bobbie C. Blalock; his children, Michelle Blevins & Tadpole Wells of Colquitt, Lynn Csenar of Bainbridge, Jeanie & Pat Dow also of Bainbridge, and John & Cindy Day of Brinson; his siblings, Thomas & Ann Blalock of Harlem, Ga., and Richard Blalock of Valdosta, Ga.; and his eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his siblings, Hardy Blalock, Sue Touchton, Myrtle O’Neil, and Fay Blalock.
