Graveside funeral services for Amy Lynn Byrd, 38, of Cairo, Ga. were held on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 11 a.m. in Pisgah Cemetery, Climax. Brad Bates will officiated. Amy passed away peacefully at her home in Cairo, on Friday, May 14, 2021.
Pallbearers were Shawn Byrd, Cody Byrd, Shannon Blanton, Tim Blanton, Jason Harrell, Zachery Merritt and Kyle Curin, Jr.
Amy was born on March 18, 1983, in Bainbridge, Ga. to Robert Byrd, Sr. and Vicky Lynn Josey Thomas. Before her illness, Amy worked many jobs, but was best known as a sales representative for the Bainbridge Tractor Company. Amy loved her friends and family and especially her fur babies. She was of the Baptist faith.
Amy was a 2002 graduate of Bainbridge High, where she played the clarinet all through school. She had a heart of gold; she lived a fun, loving and good spirit filled life. The many adventures of her life included karaoke, fishing, boating at Spring Creek and grilling for family and friends. Amy surely is our inspirational Warrior!
Survivors include: her parents, Robert G. Byrd, Sr. (Ethel) of Selma, Ala. and Vicky Lynn Thomas (Jackie) of Climax, Ga.; brothers, Shawn Byrd (Natasha) of Blakely, Ga., Robert Byrd, Jr. of Cairo, Cody Byrd (Stevie) of Ochlocknee, Ga., Chris Helms (Ashley) of Cairo, Cody Thomas of Thomasville, Ga., David Smith (Leticia) of Montevallo, Ala., Kendall Smith (Kim) of Selma, Ala.; sisters, Candy Merritt (Rusty) of Cuthbert, Ga., Rhonda Cooper (John) of Donalsonville, Ga., Kristen Weathersby (Kyle) of Cuthbert, Alyssa Thomas of Climax, Brittany Harrell (Jason) of Cairo; special life partner and friend, Tammy Willis of Cairo; grandparents, Sue Pearce of Whigham, Jackie Thomas (Jo) of Cairo; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her: grandparents; stepfather, Ricky Helms; brother, Justin Willis; and uncle, Kenneth Josey.
