Thomas James Scherer, 65, of Tallahassee, Florida passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021.

The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Bainbridge First United Methodist Church Chapel with Rev. Melissa Traver officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Tom was born April 15, 1956 in Jacksonville, Florida, the son of Cmdr. James P. Scherer and Mrs. Arden F. Scherer. Tom graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and Florida State University with a degree in Civil Engineering.

Tom loved cars and driving and enjoyed his vintage Mustang convertible. He loved grilling and spending time at home and leaves to cherish his memory Debra Waldera, who was the love of his life.

Survivors include his brother, Steve Scherer of Port Townsend, Washington; sister Sue Scherer Dealy (David) of Franklin, Tennessee; sister Linda Scherer Lott of Bainbridge, Georgia, and a host of other relatives.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Cmdr. James P. Scherer and Mrs. Arden F. Scherer.
