Thursday afternoon, a crowd of people gathered upstairs at First National Bank for a preview party for the First Adventures Travel Club.
Those in attendance were given a preview of upcoming trips planned for the next year. Locations on the calendar are as follows: the “Hilarity and Moonshine in Savannah” trip, planned for June 19-20, with activities including a trip to the American Prohibition Museum and the “Savannah for Morons” comedy tour; the “Discover Mackinac Island Tour,” scheduled for October 1-8, with activities including tours and horse-drawn carriage ride; and the “Alaska’s Northern Lights” trip, scheduled for March of next year, with a glacier cruise and musk ox farm on the docket, as well as the chance to see the Northern Lights.
A trip has been scheduled for December 7-9, the “Christmas Tour – Christmas at the Inn at Christmas Place,” though more details are unavailable.
The Travel Club is now in it’s fourth year. Lorenda Smith is in charge of the program.
“I’ve just been doing this for 20 years and it is one of the best parts,” she said.
According to Smith, the club helps build relationships with their customers.
“It really is a way, for our senior customers, to have a connection, and for us to build lasting relationships.” She continued, “When you travel with someone for seven days, you’re going get to know them personally. True community banking is all about the relationships… The travel club is one of the parts of my job that I enjoy the most. Being able to travel with customers, or potential customers, and build lifelong friendships in community is even more important.”
There are limited spots available for certain trips, such as the Alaska tour. For more information, as well as information on prices, discounts, loyalty rewards and future meetings, contact Smith at First National Bank.
