Saundra Dianne Taylor was born April 30, 1961, in Albany, Ga., the daughter of John & Judith Bowman Taylor. She was a graduate of Dougherty County High School and earned a degree in History from Tift College. Saundra married Ronald Keith Ethridge in 1984 and they made their home in Fitzgerald. She retired from Ben Hill County Board of Education with 25+ years of service. Saundra was Baptist by faith.
Saundra was an avid fan of Florida State Seminoles. She enjoyed youth and college sports which probably began with her love for her students. Saundra was quite knowledgeable and could give a history lesson with little to no thought. She spent her life doing what she loved: teaching, traveling, enjoying holidays, crafting, and spending time with family. The beach was her peaceful place and Gone With The Wind was her favorite literary work.
Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Ronald Keith Ethridge; her children, Amanda & Wesley Scarbary of Wray, Ga., Caitlin Ethridge of Bainbridge, and Ethan & Abby Ethridge also of Wray; her mother, Judy Taylor of Adel, Ga.; her sister, Kelli Hughes and her husband, Mike, also of Adel; her grandchildren, Madee, Caiden, and Ellie; and her nephews, Taylor & Shelby, Bailey, Colton and Cooper. Saundra was preceded in death by her father, John Robert Taylor, and her grandson, Lane Scarbary.
