Carl Jackson “Rusty” Jones, 63, of Climax, Ga., passed away Friday, August 20, 2021.

Carl Jackson Jones III was born October 23, 1957, in Bainbridge, Ga., the son of Carl Jr. and Joy Sadler Jones. He was a graduate of Clinton Senior High School in Clinton, Tenn. and diesel mechanic school. Rusty proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of Climax Baptist Church.

Tinkering was Rusty’s favorite pastime. He was always working on something, either taking it apart or putting it back together. Rusty was an expert with a Rubik’s Cube. (He solved it without taking it apart.) He collected rocks and enjoyed learning the details of their uniqueness.

Survivors include his daughter, Joy Anne Jones of Climax, Ga.; his sister, Sandy Josey and her husband, Eddie, also of Climax; his nephews, Christopher Josey and Joel Josey; and his faithful canine companion, Booger. Rusty was preceded in death by his parents.
