On September 2, Gulf County Sheriff Mike Harrison announced the arrest of Derius Raoule Green, 31, of Bainbridge. He was taken into custody on Dixie View Lane in Highland View that afternoon.
Green was wanted by the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office for possession of meth, possession of meth and cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, criminal use of a firearm with an altered ID, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and violation of felony probation. Green is also a suspect in the murder of Willie Walker.
DCSO Chief Investigator Elijah McCoy said they were made aware of Green’s whereabouts through a series of tips. The tips led McCoy, along with the Gulf County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, and Bay County Sheriff’s Office to an RV Camper that Green was staying in with a friend.
McCoy is still continuing to investigate Green, but has since become aware of several individuals who made contact with Green and knew his location, before he fled town. They have since been arrested for false statements in matters with jurisdiction and hindering the apprehension or punishment of a criminal.
The individuals arrested include Patrick Harper, Latisha Williams and Aja Murray.
Anyone with any additional information on Green or matters related to the murder of Walker are encouraged to contact McCoy.
