The Decatur County Schools’ Foundation, Inc. was founded in 1997 with a mission to promote excellence in Decatur County Schools. Educators apply annually for grants funded by the Foundation, to reward academic excellence and provide cultural experiences for students that would not otherwise be funded by tax dollars or fundraising activities. Members of the DCSF Board recently made a presentation to Dr. Yolanda Lewis and Dr. Stephanie Green on behalf of New Beginnings Learning Center.
Dr. Lewis submitted a grant request for students from the New Beginnings Learning Center to travel on a field trip to the World of Coca-Cola to afford these students the opportunity to have visual images of what is being taught and also enhance their social interactions while making connections in the global society. Student involvement in these types of events will be beneficial across the curriculum because they will be required to make written reports in groups and make presentations to their classmates about their learning experiences.
Please consider making a difference in the life of Decatur County Students through a donation made payable to the Decatur County Schools’ Foundation, Inc. and mail to P.O. Box 1070, Bainbridge, GA 39818.
