Dick Allen Lay, age 66, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022.

The graveside service was held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 11th, 2022, at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Pastor Lynn Massey officiating. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending were asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK  73123-1718.

Dick was born Tuesday, March 15th, 1955, in Charleston, West Virginia, the son of Roland and Rhoda Lay.  Dick worked at Georgia Gulf Sulfur Trucking Company for 36 years.  He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include wife of 36 years, Martha Ellen Donalson Lay; son, Wesley Allen Lay (Samantha) of Manassas, Virginia; granddaughter, Madelyn Elizabeth Lay; sister, Phyllis Kay Joy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; three sisters.
