Johnny Lee Cooper, 88, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022.
The funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Recovery United Methodist Church with Rev. Charlie Boyd officiating. Jerry Cooper, Nico Dean, Paul Johns, Rex Moody, and Zoey Logan served as active pallbearers. Interment was at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Chattahoochee, Fla. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending were asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines.

Johnny was born June 11, 1933, in Chattahoochee, Fla., the son of Obie and Mary Weathers Cooper. He was a graduate of Faceville High School, Class of 1952. He was a retired Chief Master Sergeant in the U. S. Air Force and served during Korea and Viet Nam. He retired from his second career with the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 52 and was a dedicated union member and welder. He loved hunting and fishing, and was a very dedicated and loving husband, father, and uncle.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Peggy Whiddon Cooper of Bainbridge, Ga.; his son, Dennis K. Cooper (Monique) of Tallahassee, Fla.; his grandchildren, John Cooper (Julia) and Emily Brinson (Kenny); his great-grandchildren, Bryson Cooper and Gavin Brinson; and several nieces and nephews.
