Funeral services for Joyce Harrison Ritter, 77, of Cairo, Ga., are at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 21, 2022, at the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Cairo, Ga. Pastor Teddy Williamson will officiate. Services will conclude at the chapel. Private interment will be in Attapulgus Baptist Church Cemetery, Attapulgus, Ga. Mrs. Ritter passed away at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, Ga., on Friday, May 13, 2022.

Mrs. Ritter was born on September 23, 1944, in Cairo, Ga., to the late Albert Lee Harrison and Cora Belle Coon Harrison. On August 8, 1962, she married Townzel “Tex” Ritter, who preceded her in death on January 13, 2016. She was a dispatcher with the Whigham Police Department until her retirement. Joyce was a member of the Cowboy Church, Meigs, Ga.

Survivors include: her children, David Ritter of Cairo, Ga., Amy Ritter Jackson of Tallahassee, Fla.; grandchildren, Whitney Ritter of Tallahassee, Fla., Cody Ray of Cairo, Ga., Austin Ray of Cairo, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Dominique Ritter of Tallahassee, Fla., Jayla Ritter of Tallahassee, Fla., Devin Ritter of Tallahassee, Fla.; siblings, Virginia Stewart of Blairsville, Ga., Juanita Dollar of Cairo, Ga., Roger Harrison of Cairo, Ga., Wendell Harrison of Cairo, Ga., Al Harrison of Climax, Ga., Linda Voorhees of Callahan, Fla.; sister-in-law, Barbara Harrison of Cairo, Ga.; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; sisters, Frances Brown, Evelyn Steels; and brothers-in-law, Lawrence Brown, Bruce Stewart, Lenward Dollar, Tim Voorhees.

The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home immediately following the funeral service.
