Fannie Uleain Evans, 93, of Titusvile, Fla., passed away on June 09, 2022. Fannie was born in 1929 to Mallie and Upson Hunt in Bainbridge, Ga.
Fannie attended church at Titusville’s Park Avenue Baptist Church. She arrived in Titusville in 1965, a single mother, and set to work raising her 5 children. She would eventually retire from McDonald Douglas / Boeing in Titusville, Fla.
Most of her immediate family was in Titusville when she arrived there in 1965, including her mother and stepfather, Mallie and Jeff Fuller, her brothers, Arzzon and Bable Hunt, with their family and her sister and husband Buries and Joseph Dean with their family.
Though there were plenty of challenges, Fannie’s home produced a tight-knit group of grown children. Her daughters, Gloria Jean Lewis (deceased); Sandra Elaine Brockett (deceased); Laura C. Pushard and Susie Ann Hampton along with her son Jesse La Von Day were her heart’s delight although a favorite saying of hers was “it ain’t easy”.
Fannie loved all the grandkids and at her age, great grandkids who pleased her to no end.
During Fannie’s last years she was in the care of the ever-attentive staff of Royal Oak Nursing and Rebab Center in Titusville, Fla. While there, there were challenges with dementia but in periods of clarity, she praised the help given her by the staff at Royal Oak.
Fannie’s funeral will be a small family affair in Bainbridge, Ga. She will be laid to rest with many relatives including her mother, father, stepfather and brother among others. The cemetery at Beulah Thomas Baptist Church is directly across the street from the family home where she grew up. Her favorite song “I Come to the Garden Alone” will be heard at the family service at her final resting place.
