Barbara P. Snell, 85, of Ocala, Fla., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 12 at her home.
She was born on August 3, 1937, in Miami, Florida, to the late George Peace and Mary Moyer. Barbara was incredibly talented and creative. She enjoyed hand-making cards, knitting, sewing, baking cookies and caring for her beautiful collection of orchids. She was a true friend to those that knew her and she was happiest when spending time with her family, friends, and pets. She enjoyed traveling, learning, and trying new things.
Barbara worked for a local newspaper in New Hampshire when she met her late husband, Ted. After retirement, Barbara and Ted owned and operated the Beal House Inn in Littleton, NH where they hosted guests from all over the world.
Barbara will always be remembered for her kindness and generosity. She was a dedicated member of her church community and a supporter of local animal shelters. She and Ted were active volunteers. They enjoyed giving back to those less fortunate than themselves by offering comfort to those in hospice, spending time at the Humane Society, and participating in Habitat for Humanity.
She is survived by her loving sons Robert Rohrborn (José Franco) and Richard Rohrborn. Other family members include her granddaughters: Virginia Rohrborn (Kelley Rohrborn), Ann Brander, Christina Brander, Domenica Rohrborn, Samantha Rohrborn, and Hannah Rohrborn. She will be missed by her beloved pets Haddie (dog), Pepper (cat), and Finn (fish).
Barbara joins her beloved husband, Ted Snell, and her daughter, Patricia Brander.
A service will be held at a later date at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Bainbridge, Georgia. She will be laid to rest with her husband at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, New Hampshire. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations are made to the ASPCA in Barbara’s name.
