James Chason Darley, 54, of Bainbridge, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Crisp officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery with Terry Maxwell, Alan Maxwell, Jason Maxwell, Randy Hayes, Terry Hayes, Derick Hayes, and Ronnie Hayes serving as active pallbearers.

James Chason Darley was born May 15, 1968, in Bainbridge, GA, the son of James L. “Jimmy” and Rachel Chason Darley. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1986. James earned degrees from Bainbridge College and University of Georgia prior to earning a Ph.D. in Nuclear Pharmacy from a university in Ohio. He was Baptist by faith.
Besides a few years in Mississippi, James spent his life in Southwest Georgia. He enjoyed collecting coins and could tell you down to the mint marks about each one. James was fascinated with the historic and artistic value of his collection. James was an avid sports fan following closely professional and college football teams as well as the Atlanta Braves.
Survivors include his mother, Rachel Chason Darley; and his siblings, Lamar & Kathy Cutts of Cairo, GA, Nancy Davis of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Sandra & Mike Garland of Ashford, AL. James was preceded in death by his father, James L. “Jimmy” Darley, and his sister, Wanda Cutts.
