A-1 Industries is looking to expand its workforce in Bainbridge. To that end, the roof truss manufacturer hosted a career fair at the Firehouse Art Gallery on Tuesday afternoon. While A-1 has held job fairs at its facility before, this marked the first one to be held at the Firehouse.
A-1 Director of Marketing Michael Fagan previously spoke to the Post-Searchlight about the event prior to it, describing the downtown location as “the heart” of Bainbridge, and described A-1’s Bainbridge facility as the company’s finest. He spoke with the Post-Searchlight again at the event, stating that they hope to make these job fairs common. “We want to make it a consistent thing, and besides doing it for ourselves, also join other companies in Bainbridge, and have more collective job fairs,” he said. “We’d also like to draw people to Bainbridge for employment as well.”
Robert Chance, VP of A-1 Human Resources, also spoke to the Post-Searchlight about the career fair. According to Chance, there was already a crowd of a dozen people waiting when the doors opened. The fair, which was held in the Firehouse’s upstairs gallery, was fairly lively with activity. “We’re absolutely impressed by the turnout, it was amazing.”
