Robert Randall Weathersby was born January 21, 1955, in Bainbridge, Ga., the son of Robert L. and Mary Dyches Weathersby. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1973. Randy married Donna Wright in 1978, and they made their home in Bainbridge. He worked as a maintenance mechanic with M&M Mars until his retirement, and then owned TriState Mobile Welding. Randy was a member of West Bainbridge Baptist Church.
Randy had a heart of gold and an easy toggle switch. His heart of gold shined brightly when he was helping others. Family and friends, most of whom were like family, could testify that Randy loved BIG and would do just about anything for you, especially if it was fun or involved dove hunting and fishing. That “easy toggle switch” meant if you gave him just a little information, he was sure to tease you to the nth degree. Randy was a perfectionist; working alongside him in the shop was the quickest lesson in “Randy’s Way”.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Donna Wright Weathersby; his children Ryan & Ashley Weathersby of Bethany Community and Josh Weathersby of Bainbridge; his grandchildren, Colby, Kaitlyn, Lexie, and Maddie; his mother, Mary Dyches Weathersby; his siblings, Jan Pittman (Lee) of Bainbridge, Bobbie Cannon (Eldridge) of St. Simons Island, Terri Jones (Scott) of Olive Branch, Miss., and Suzanne Griffin (Mark) of Colquitt; and a large extended family. Randy was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Weathersby.
