Cleve Edward Dryden, 69, of Bainbridge, Georgia, passed away peacefully at home with his family on Saturday evening, August 26, 2023. Cleve was born in Waycross, Georgia, to the late Millard Benjamin Dryden and Ethel Lee Carter Dryden.
After graduating from Southern Technical Institute, a unit of Georgia Institute of Technology, he earned his Master of Civil Engineering from Norwich University. Cleve improved cities throughout the world with his skilled designs and passion for civil engineering, most recently as the principal consultant for Consolidated Design Professionals. Cleve was also a beloved deacon at his church and founder of the Mike Melvin Classic Memorial Golf Tournament.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Roberta; children Angela Dawn, Katherine, Jonathan (and wife Casey Jo), and Cherise; two brothers and best friends, Alan (and wife Dora) and Donald (and wife Cindy); and two grandchildren.
The Dryden family appreciates all who have poured love into the family in so many amazing and wonderful ways, including the guys of Grace Church who were a gift from God on a special Saturday; Stone’s, Inc. for the immeasurable gift of giving Roberta time with Cleve; and a special dose of gratitude and thanks to the nurses and physical therapist of CenterWell Home Health and Gentiva Hospice who were such blessings and also became caring and compassionate friends.
The family will hold a visitation at 2 p.m. followed by a celebration of Cleve’s incredible life at 3 p.m. September 5, 2023, at the Music Funeral Home at 1503 Tebeau Street, followed by the burial at the Hephzibah Baptist Church Cemetery, 6166 Hephzibah Church Road, Waycross, Georgia, 31501.
