Mr. Boyde W. Johnson, age 80, passed away late Wednesday evening at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge, Georgia. Services for Mr. Johnson will be held at Faceville Baptist Church, 11:00, Monday, September 4. The Rev. David Grubbs will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow in Cool Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends before the service, beginning at 10:00 am.
Boyde W. Johnson was born May 4, 1943, in Sarasota, Florida to Jutson Lee Johnson and Inez Golden Johnson. Boyde proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He married Eloise Temples Johnson and was blessed to share his life with hers for 46 years. Boyde was dedicated to his family. He loved them deeply. Cook outs, reunions, holidays, he looked forward to any excuse to gather. Boyde was a talented auto body repairman. He worked for many years and retired from Chapman’s Paint and Body Shop. Boyde loved to go fishing and loved to travel. He and Eloise would jump in the car and head out on all sorts of road trips. Mostly, he loved the Lord and was a member of Faceville Baptist Church. Boyde Johnson will be dearly missed by his family and many, many friends.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Eloise Temples Johnson of Attapulgus, Georgia; children, Wallace Johnson of Tifton, Georgia, Lynwood Spooner (Diane) of Morriston, Florida, and H. L. Spooner (Ginger) of Bainbridge; his sister, Joyce Coonrod (George) of Kingsland, Georgia; grandchildren, Karlyn Jane Johnson of Newton, Georgia, Mason Johnson of Leesburg, Georgia, Matthew Johnson of Leesburg, Haley Logue (Randy) of Bainbridge, Ashley Perez (Kenny) of Leesburg, Amanda Noegel (Louie) of Worthington Springs, Florida, Lynwood Spooner, Jr. (Stephanie) of Wade, North Carolina, Justin Spooner (Brandy) of Climax, Georgia, and John Spooner of Bainbridge; great-grandchildren, Katie Marsh (Garrett), Layla Noegel, Paisley Noegel, Tegan Spooner, Ryan Logue, Caleb Logue, Noah Perez, and Ty Autry; great-great-grandchildren, Hunter Lynn Marsh and Tucker Marsh; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; children, Joye Spooner Jones and Jesse Perry Spooner, Jr.; and siblings, Willie Johnson, Franklin Johnson, Bobbie Joe Hatcher, Katie Fowler, and Paul Ed Johnson.
