Katie Louise Shepard was born September 15, 1940, in Attapulgus, GA, the daughter of Freddy & Clara Mae Josey Shepard. After high school, she married the love of her life, Allison Miller, Jr., and they made their home in Climax. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
Louise was a strong Christian who served her church and loved her church family selflessly. She was very independent and stuck to her guns when she felt strongly on an issue. Prior to moving to Whigham, Louise was known for sitting on her front porch, keeping the road hot, and enjoying meals at Golden Corral/Ricky’s. Her favorite “programs” on television included The Price is Right, Young & The Restless, and Bold & The Beautiful. Other game shows garnered her attention and kept her sharp. Even though she was considered a “radio baby”, Louise was rarely without a cell phone and maintained connections with family and friends.
Survivors include her children, Benny Miller of Bainbridge and Betty Hatton Loyless of Brinson; her daughter-in-law, Lisa Miller of Donalsonville; her grandchildren, Heavyn & Nick and Miracle; and her siblings Annette S. Kelly and Jimmy Shepard (Brenda) all of Climax. In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Allison Miller, Jr.; her son Charlie Allison Miller; and her brother, Danny Shepard.
