On Tuesday, the Bainbridge Rotary Club met for its weekly meeting. But rather than the usual lunch meeting at the Kirbo Center, club members met at the Decatur County Board of Education cafeteria, packing lunch bags for students in need. Most of the food items included in the bags were non-perishable, including canned soup and beans, as well as granola bars, packs of grits, and applesauce.
Rotary has helped with this program in the past. Stephanie Poitevint explained how the program works in a previous interview, saying that students are either referred by teachers or signed up for it by their parents. These meals are given free of charge to the students.
After packing the bags, the club concluded with lunch and Rotary announcements.
